i'm running an MCX upper on an SBR AR lower. the only thing that will prevent it from working is possibly the trigger in your AR. non-milspec hammers sometimes arent tall enough to disengage the firing pin latch in the MCX bolt carrier. the flip side is, a Gieselle MCX trigger also works in an AR15.
