I have a slip at Somers Cove in Crisfield. It is a very nice marina with a pool, clean showers etc. Very short ride to Smith Island approx 25 - 35 minutes. Plenty of great fishing in Tangier sound (I can even give you a couple places that yield lots of spot).

I say this with respect but the older salts should know about this topic than any of us. Some were catching crabs in 7' to 10' while I was catching them in 3' to 5' in the Pax.

If the lead breaks - you lose the fish. Pure lead is also more dense then alloy. You would be amazed if you took a small scale and weighed various 8 oz sinkers.
