Considering that this platform was built by ex-traders, they appreciate that lower commissions means greater opportunities to trade in a more efficient manner. Customer service is second to none. Both are targetted at individual self-directed investors; in other words, the do-it-yourself retail investor. As such, Tastytrade is an online financial content network with about 50 streaming shows for the beginning to experienced investors. Tastyworks is a regulated and very new broker from the same very experienced creators of the broker Thinkorswim. Tastyworks is not your average trading broker, it is a very special broker. This does not necessarily mean that it is the best choice for you. Tastyworks is also the broker that I currently use for my trading.Tastytrade has very high exchange fees. They pass through their exchange fees and charge around 14.5 cents per option contract. That's about 6x - 7x more than I pay with Etrade (E*trade).
