Abstract The present study was aimed to formulate the solid dispersion incorporated microcapsule to improve the dissolution rate and half life of pioglitazone hydrochloride. The solvent evaporation method was used to formulate the solid dispersion resulted increased dissolution rate, bioavailability and stability.Phase-solubility analysis. Phase-solubility study was carried out according to the method of Higuchi and Connors . Excess amount of repaglinide (approx. 10 mg) was added to 2.5 mL 10 mM phosphate buffer (pH 6 and pH 3.5) containing increasing amounts of Captisol ® (10 −3 –10 −1 M) and shaken at 25 ± 0.5 °C.In this regard, the well-known solubility diagram design (T. Higuchi, K. A. Connors, “Phase Solubility Techniques,” Advanced Analytical Chemistry of Instrumentation, Vol. 4, 1965, pp. 117-212) should be done in order to obtain information about the drug solubility in presence of increasing CD concentrations.Higuchi T, Connors K.
