davin Discussion starter · #8 · Feb 25, 2020 (Edited) I searched through the service manual and found that the P0AFA code is considered a type a DTC. • DTCs P0AFA and P0AFB are type A DTCs. • If any of these DTCs are set, the vehicle will operate in a reduced power mode and charge sustaining mode.

Wiggling the shifter has made it go away each time. Searching the forum, though, I see mostly 2016 and 2017 models experiencing this issue.llninja · #8 · Feb 22, 2016. I have a 2014 Chevy volt with just under 80k miles. I’ve had the car for over two years and never had any issues. Today I drove to work and there were no issues at all. Normal drive. If you have the issue the contacts on the shifter position sensor are pitted and corroded from the high voltage surge. The exact switch GM uses is $2.71, but GM sells if for $429. It takes 20,000 to 40,000 miles before the switch will fail. And it will fail again unless the voltage sure components, ($0.75) are installed.

Most likely this. if you did leave the car on it would have turned off after 2 hours but that would have been enough to kill the 12 volt battery. If you can't jump it just replace it cuz that's cheaper than getting it towed and yada yada.
