6gt vs 6 dasher.

PRC would hit a little harder but shot placement is probably more important. Heard PRC ammo and components are hard to come by. Also heard a few folks have had brass sizing issues with the 6.5 PRC and 300 PRC. There is a thread on here about it. I would probably get a different rifle in 6.5 PRC and play with it.I got a chance to shoot these at longer ranges yesterday. Out to 500yds, it was pretty hard to tell the difference between the 109ELDs and 110ATips. At 600, there was maybe one click difference in elevation. When I true the drops out to 1000, I get a BC of .285-.290 for the 109ELDs and .300-.305 for the ATips.I have no desire to run a lighter bullet in this round. If I were going to shoot 108's or lighter I would chamber up a 6BRA or Dasher. Its my humble opinion that the extra case capacity of the GT is best utilized running a heavier, higher BC bullet at the same velocities BR variants are running 105s. But I like the DTAC.What calibers can a 30-06 be converted to? That extra two grains is enough to give the case performance nearly on a par with the 6mm Dasher or 6 BRX, with the 85-95 grain bullets. This case will drive those pills plenty fast. I’m able to run the Berger 95s at 3200 fps, pretty much as fast as you can push them with a Dasher.

if I have a less then half used 6 dasher barrel (I don’t have anything for dasher) but would like to switch to 6GT. I know some smiths would just ram the GT reamer in and clean up the dasher. I currently don't have a 6mm but i do have a 6.5cm and 223 custom builds that are a joy to shoot. I've been to a couple of PRS matches but a majority of my shooting is just plinking steel to just over 1000 currently. The 6 Dasher and GT seem to be favorites.
