Every time I go to SXM we de- plane via stairs and walk to the terminal, or take a bus from the tarmac to arrivals depending on where the plane parked.

As far as calling to SXM, Verizon charges .50 a minute from US. All incomming calls to SXM from US to a local rental cell phone are free to the receiver. Verizon only works on the Durtch side and runs around 1.29 a min. If you are using WIFI at a resort your charges include the access with out any need of phone charges.
